[Lockergnome's Mobile Lifestyle] While the rumors are heavy with Sirius courting Apple to make a satellite-slash-iPod music player, looks like XM’s been working on something similar. While not the iPod it is something iPod users have been downloading to their players for over a year now from the iTunes Music Store.

[Tristan's Blog] Apple WWDC 2005: Well I just watched the 1hr 2 min KeyNote from the WWDC 2005 in Cali. I was a bit suprised to read some rumors in WSJ, /., C|Net, Wired that Apple would be making the switch from PowerPC Processors which I use now (G4 and G5) to Intel Processors. But then I viewed this as kinda of a good thing with the demo's of how everything was working.

[Musings from a Wanna Be Writer] Magic Mountain: Before The Park When the wife ask...: But then Young grabbed the remote and turned the system from one that only played crappy music, into something that was keeping me awake in the back wondering what was coming out next of the box of music goodness. Though I'd been wanting a Sirius Satellite Radio system for some time, because of Young, the XM seemed like a really good alternative. However, with Howard Stern signed onto Sirius, I think that's the route I'm going.

[Peterthink.blogs.com] Thinking by Peter Davidson: Satellite iPod Rumors=Death of ...: More competition sure..who dosent have it but during the peak of the internet boom I cant tell you how many folks said broadcast was dead in 5 years...Those clowns are working at Starbucks and radios still rockin. Ipods are great, I own two. What ever ya got bring it on because broadcast radio people are smart, creative, resourceful and adaptable.

[Ipoditude.com] iPoditude.com > The iPod Blog: Sirius iPod Not on the Horizon: Mel Karmazin, the CEO of Sirius Satellite Radio, tells the press that he did indeed speak with Apple about putting a Sirius receiver into the iPod. You may recall that these rumors were going around in early mid-December, and at the time the strongest argument against the combined iPod was that the satellite radio receiver was still too large to fit into the iPod. Karmazin comments that Apple thinks, "they don't need to put a satellite radio in their box." Personally, I prefer the term "white monolith" for my iPod.

[Satelliteblog.com] Satellite Blog » Blog Archive » Sirius getting no play from Apple iPod: Karmazin, who became Sirius chief executive in November, discussed the company in a wide-ranging 45-minute interview at the 2005 Media Summit in Manhattan. He raised the possibility of pairing satellite radio with Apple’s popular iPod digital music player, comparing that scenario with Sony’s decision in the 1980s to add a radio tuner to its Walkman.

[Gizmodo.com] Satellite iPod Rumors : Gizmodo: I’ve got nothing to add to the rumors swirling of a new iPod with a built-in Sirius satellite radio receiver. My initial thought is that it’s probably nigh-on impossible to cram all the hardware necessary for a satellite receiver and antenna into an iPod of the current sizes, but I’m only making that assessment from the size of XM and Delphi’s MyFi player, but still. My gut instinct is that the January 11th MacWorld is going to be a disappointment from an iPod perspective—both a flash-based iPod and a satellite-receiving iPod just don’t sit right with me for some reason.
