World of Warcraft

[Cyrus’ Weblog] This game is worth mentioning for many reasons but I won’t be writing long about how fun it’s to play or how well it’s designed or how much I like playing a night elf druid on WoW. I’ll tell you one thing: grab your own copy ASAP!

Some slightly related from Technorati and Google.

http://www.control-v.net [Control+V] Phasing Out: I went ahead and deactivated my World of Warcraft account yesterday, so in a few days when my billing cycle ends I’ll officially be “outta there”… for the second time. At launch I played a Rogue up to level 50 before taking a break for a couple months, and this time I played a Mage to 49. WoW is great fun to actually play, unlike a lot of other MMOGs out there, but what I really want to do is have fun with other people.

http://vaspersthegrate.blogspot.com [Vaspers the Grate] Gamers' Manifesto: a Vaspersian analysis: But there's another, less-obvious side of that muffin: if a machine is so "advanced" it can draw a photo-realistic city in the background of every level, that only means that developers now must to hire somebody to render that photorealistic city instead of pasting on a bit of flat, blurred wallpaper.

[kurakin] Wallpapers!: 11 walls, pretty good length for a series in my book. I do have some ideas for a few more, so when I get some more screenshots, and make those up, I’ll post them here. All of these wallpapers are just straight screenshots from WoW, with a little bit of text added. No other modification has been done.

[Intelligent-artifice.com] Intelligent Artifice: Wow: After that week, I was pretty much hooked. And I wasn't the only one, although there are some pockets of resistance. Luckily, I had a week of holiday coming up. It was originally reserved for a ski trip, but that fell through.

[Frostbolt.com] Frostbolt, a World of Warcraft Blog: Anyways, the run was like anti-roguish because most of the stuff that dropped was not for rogues Dal’Rend’s Off-hand weapon dropped, I wanted to main-hand to complete the set What I noticed is that when we began, normal mobs dropped set items o_O Was really impressive.

Pc.gamespy.com[Pc.gamespy.com] PC: WoW-A-Minute: The World of Warcraft Blog: If Tom wants a mount so badly, he's perfectly free to go onto Wowbay or one of the million other sites selling World of Warcraft money for real money, grab a hundred gold, and buy one. Oh, and he'll have to start playing a single character for longer than the time it takes to use up the 200% XP bonus instead of jumping around between ten different level 12 alts. Or he could just pay a Korean leveling service. Any of those is just fine.

Joystiq.com[Joystiq.com] World of Warcraft exploit could mean trouble for public gatherings ...: Tipster, Bernie, has sent us a clip of an exploit in World of Warcraft. It’s a nasty one, too. Apparently, a mob can curse a felhound (a warlock pet) that makes it explode.
