[Force Against Something] TIVO IS JOINING THE RANKS of companies that require new customers to contractually subscribe to their services, and penalize any customer that cancels the service before the contract has expired, often charging the customer hundreds of dollars. Cellphone service providers like T-Mobile and Verizon require that most new customers sign a 1 or 2 year contract, and apparently TiVo thinks that business model is a perfect fit for their services.
