The world is round
[Shisso] This new one I got is a Peleng 3.5/8AC lens, and you definitely can see the fish-eye results. The lens is custom made to fit the Canon EOS mount, but it does come with lots of different adaptors for other cameras too. Somehow, the mount just fits in but it doesn't lock, so having bit trouble while trying to adjust the aperture and distance on the lens and the whole thing turns.

Now new sensors are costly to develop and it makes sense for Canon to use the minimum number of different sensors in their DSLR lineup, so development costs of making an 8MP 1.6x sensor would require an investment by Canon. However, an 8MP sensor would give them a competitive advantage over Nikon (and the other 6MP DSLRs) in the "prosumer" DSLR market and it would also give Canon an easy upgrade path for the 300D sometime next year."
