Gadgetism.org > Sony unveils PS3 motion gadgetry | Reporter.com.my

[Reporter.com.my] Sony was the first of the three companies to use motion-sensing in games with its EyeToy camera for the PlayStation 2 console in 2003. Its new technology is a development of that - using the updated Eye camera for the PS3 and a wand-like device that can be transformed into virtual objects on screen.

[FEATURES] Analysis: Sony Press Conference | Edge Online: No price drop (as I speculated previously - probably a TGS announcement), no PS3 slim. The glowy motion wands were downright embarrassing, too much time was spent on PSP (giving the impression of desperation by practially giving away the SDK's) and the fact that the new PSP is $250 shows that Sony still hasn't learned from the mistakes of PS3 regarding price points.

Press Democrat: Most game journalists who attended the briefing seemed to think the motion controls in Sony's prototype were already as good as what's been shown of Nintendo's Wii MotionPlus, the enhancement for the Wii remote that releases later this month. If this is true, and if Microsoft's controllerless Project Natal lives up to the hype, Nintendo could find itself in the odd position of playing catch-up while still dominating the home console market.

[PSX Extreme] : Sony's E3 Press Conference: Ben's Impressions: Sony looks to me like thy will not reduce their price until the Holiday season, I still believe that a Slim PS3 will arrive then. Mark my words, the $299 price point for a PS3 may be the sweet spot, and you may not see another cut until late in the life of the unit.

[dannychoo.com - Your portal to Japan] Breaking News - Sony New Product: PS2, home theater with surround sound and a/v hookups for three items, digital camera and a cd drive. I've never had a problem with Sony products except when it came to the price of the PS3 and their lcd tv's, what I have had a problem with is that the repair centers in the states have all went to mexico and that country is not known for having success with its tech repair facilities turning out working repairs.

[Amazon.co.uk: Bestsellers in PC & Video Games > Sony PLAYSTATION 3] Street Fighter IV - Collectors Edition (PS3): Amazon.co.uk: PC ...: Knowing a good thing when they see it, Capcom has gone to great lengths to ensure that everything that made the legendary Street Fighter II a hit in the arcades, living rooms and dormitories across the globe all those years ago has been brought back in Street Fighter IV, and this naturally starts with the characters. Fans of the franchise, as well as the fighting genre in general, will be happy to know that whether you prefer to stick with the superior abilities of top tier characters or explore the ins and outs of mid to lower level combatants, when it comes time to pick your fighter there is a wide array of choices.

[BBC Blogs | Technology] BBC NEWS | Tomorrow's World: Used to be totally opposite - die hard Sony-till-I-die supporter. But aggressive business practices (Lik-Sang anyone?), poor products (Vaio laptop overheating, other products failing suspiciously just after the warranty expires) a ridiculous PS3 price, and worst of all, DRM to rival or surpass even Microsoft and Apple combined have made me realise just how much of a bad company Sony are.

[Camera Hacker] Camera Hacker: Forums: Error Code C:31:23?: Today I did the following with my camera...I opened the cassette deck door at the bottom of the camera which allowed the mechanism to slide out and pop up the tape deck...I then checked the 2 white spoolers on the left and right front of inside the camera and tried spinning them around with my fingers...the right one did, but the left one was rigid so I spun it in both directions until it sort of freed itself and spun properly...then I got a new tape and so it wasn't right at the head of the tape with my left pinky finger I manually spooled the tape about 10 times on left and right spool going to the left or anticlockwise direction as you look at the tape with it in upright position...put in the tape and pushed the tape deck down for it to slide in but it stopped halfway into doing this...so I smacked the other side(LCD screen side) with my palm about 10 times...it then all of a sudden continued moving the cassette deck fully into place...no error message came up this time and I used the camera today fine!

[BBC Blogs | Technology] BBC NEWS | Tomorrow's World: I'm a bit of a pick and chooser of technology (I have variously a Lenovo laptop, a Sony camera, an Ericsson phone and an iPod shuffle) rather than an Apple obsessive, but I rather like the idea of the iPhone's integration of a phone and an iPod.

[CNET News.com] Why I'm shopping on Black Friday this year | The Digital Home ...: There isn't a single black friday laptop deal out there that hasn't seen the same or better price in the last 3 months, and while there are some good LCD and big-screen TV deals out there, that entire market has been dropping, and will continue to do so. Expect much better prices after the Gov't shuts off analog TV broadcasts early next year, as the supply glut builds and costs drop even more.
