Nintendo's third place victory

http://www.freyburg.com [Freyburg.com] But while the two electronics giants duke it out amongst the hardcore gamers, Nintendo has been cleverly marketing itself as the alternative system for casual gamers, culminating in the innovative Nintendo DS and the Wii. And they've done so at a profit, while Sony (and until a short time ago, Microsoft) spent billions to push their consoles at a loss.

Nintendo.....Wii?!?!

http://www.freyburg.com [Freyburg.com] Nintendo....Wii?!?! In a move clearly meant to satiate their bread-and-butter Japanese market, Nintendo has dubbed their next console "the Wii." In my opinion, that's a pretty stupid name, but then I thought the Nintendo DS wasn't such a hot idea, and I was proven wrong.

Console wars heating up

http://www.freyburg.com [Freyburg.com] Sony may have dropped the ball with their "oops, not until November, tee hee" admission, but Nintendo ain't about to pull the same move. In fact, the mighty N, which has been doing the right thing by concentrating more on games and less on streaming family photos to the bathroom, has just announced their next console will not only play all of the old school Nintendo classics, but will also emulate the Sega Genesis and TurboGrafx.

Nintendo DS VoIP Phone concept

[GadgetSpy] On my screen was Mario, on the other guy, Wario. Mario moved his mouth to the sound coming through on the other guy’s end, though the model couldn’t differentiate standard voice and surrounding noise…so Mario kept moving his mouth since there was ambient noise in the Nintendo booth. The delay between the two systems was extremely minimal, similar to what you’d get when two people on cellphones are trying to converse with each other. I could see the guy speak to me, and the delay was only a couple of milliseconds due to the compression and data transmission.
