[Saint-andre.com] one small voice: A week or so ago I had a great chat with Jason Becker of GabCast, a small technology firm up in Calgary specializing in Asterisk customization and other cool voice applications (GabCast is a service that enables you to call a PSTN number or SIP address and phone in your podcast -- and yes, hopefully Jingle support is on the way, via Asterisk or otherwise). That got me to thinking about encouraging more communication and coordination among technologists throughout the Mountain time zone.
[Blog.treonauts.com] Treonauts | Dedicated to your Treo 700 & 650. The Perfect All-In ...: I really like the Treo Wireless Headset because it's small and light ([Corrected, not 27gm] only 17 grams/0.59 ounces), it has great inbound and outbound call quality with volume controls on the unit, it shares the same design looks as my Treo 650 (two-tone greys), you can easily and quickly fit it over your ear with one hand, the earphone does not go into your ear and thus doesn't pick up ear wax, it boasts a terrific 7 hours talk-time and 170 hours (1 week) standby time and lastly it can be recharged using the standard Treo 650 wall charger thus reducing the need to carry a separate one when travelling.
[Gristmill.grist.org] Don't Fear the Reapers | Gristmill: The environmental news blog ...: I agree with the authors that the big environmental groups are not generally effective in solving big problems (overpopulation, overconsumption including driving, etc.), but there are several basic, incorrect assumptions made by those who claim that environmentalism is dead and that we need to become just another leftist movement. While it is quite clear that, at least in the U.S., people are not giving the environment any priority with either their votes or their other actions, and that we need to change SOMETHING if we are going to stop human destruction of the land, pollution of the air and water, and the needless and immoral killing of plants and other animals, we must first define the problems we face and why we are not solving them.
