[Joi Ito's Web] (My old 7600 worked on the Japanese 3G network too, but it wasn't Symbian and was a bit clunky to use.) Since J-Phone/Vodaphone and NTT DoCoMo have rolled out 3G in Japan and have roaming agreements with carriers like T-Mobile, which I use, I've been hoping that I could get a good phone that would finally allow me to have a single phone number everywhere.

IrishEyes: J-Phone/Vodafone have rolled out WCDMA in Japan so that means the phone is effectively quad band. Japan does not have GSM so the only way you can use GSM phones in Japan is when they're quad band. (via Cosmos)

[Ubergizmo.com] Uber Gizmo, the Gadgets News Blog: T-Mobile has the Nokia N-Gage QD: I don't know why anyone would do that, but in case you want to get the Nokia N-Gage QD, T-Mobile has it for $99.99. For those not familiar with this product, the Nokia N-Gage is a portable game console with an integrated phone.
