[Techdigest.tv] Tech Digest: Gadgets: To make things more user-friendly, you can also program each tag to have a specific name, so you know exactly what youre looking for and with the Loc8tor Plus you can even program the device to alert you when a Tag is getting beyond a certain distance from the Loc8tor. In addition you can also get special panic Tags that set the main units alert off, which is supposed to be useful for kids, but is actually much more use when youve managed to lose the main unit down the back of the sofa.
[Shinyshiny.tv] Shiny Shiny: Gadgets: I love the Philips Sense & Simplicity event, I always get totally sucked in by the product concepts, even though they require a huge leap of faith (really, what is staring at a bowl of light going to do for our skin exactly?) But while they may be a bit vague on details and the exact timescale for launching products like this, they certainly have some fun with the demos. Below is a video of demos for the StoryTeller, which is an interactive story telling experience with a projector torch and a lantern with a buzzy LED moth zipping about and sound effects, and also the Family Album, a product that doesn't actually seem all that unfeasible.
[Byz.org] Trends: January 2006 Archives: "some more details on the Loc8tor are starting to trickle out (ah, those PR folks; they love to trickle that info), including the fact that the device can work with up to 24 tags simultaneously, the tags themselves (pictured, above) are about the size of a postage stamp (also pictured, above), and tags can be affixed to both objects and people, the latter of which can use a panic button to alert the person holding the base unit."
