Gadgetism.org > How to make your own soda machine

[world.of.unknown] A project not for the faint of heart (or wallet), Jeff says he spent about $600 (RM2280), but that families of regular soda-drinkers will recoup that cost in the first year.

[La Shawn Barbers Corner] Newsweek Screws Up: It’s not as if journalists don’t know how to be exquisitely sensitive about their reporting when they care to be: Media organs, for example, don’t normally report the race of those who perpetrate crimes, for fear that such reports might reinforce stereotypes or lead to lynching. But passing along unfounded rumors that reinforce enemy propaganda in wartime, and lead to significant diplomatic and military problems in a friendly country doesn’t, apparently, rise to the level of importance required to trigger such sensitivities. [Mom Of Many Male Youngsters] To Do Update: Since I'm writing this instead of a decent post you'll have realized my goal of finding something interesting to write about has not been met. Actually, things have crossed my mind and quickly been banished to make room for baseball schedules and field trip schedules and all those other Spring time/child related things. As for some of the other goals...

[Classical Values] Me Two?: The 50th year was celebrated with a honey cake made of wheat flour, grated cheese, honey, and olive oil. I do try to be as historically accurate as I can, but I wouldn't know how to track down such a cake. Another site speculates that it might have looked something like this:

[More about Movies] Smarter than the Smartest Guys in the Room -- Interview with the director of the Enron documentary: Jeff Skilling connected with the business people and muscled the analysts. He literally said, “I am Enron.” He had to hold two opposing views and you can see him crack. He was an intellectual macho man, an intellectual bully, who externalized his transformation.

[The Kaitlyn Mae Book Blog] Cooking Sunday-Mushrooms Only a Dog Would Like; Book Review-2 Books on Jonbenet Ramsey; TV-The Apprentice: Schiller mentioned this Shapiro fellow in his book quite a bit and as an aside, what a character this guy has to be. Sort of a tabloid Colombo as I like to think of him, he managed to get himself all cozy with both the DA and the police in this case, so much so that Hunter regularly phoned the fellow direct to his cell phone and the Boulder cops even taped a confession by Shapiro that he was in cahoots with the DA's office. Shapiro managed to weasel in all cozy like with some other of the Ramsey witnesses, bumbling along, even joining the Ramsey church at one point, professing to a desire to convert to Christianity. What a hoot!

AMERICAblog: Because a great nation deserves the truth: According to the date the html files were created for the USMCPT Web site – files Paul still has - Paul built the site for Jeff in September 1999. Paul says he launched it within a matter of weeks. The site was eventually migrated to its own URL, USMCPT.com. While the site is no longer live on the Internet, archived copies of it were available up until around February 23, 2005 (someone had them deleted after this story broke on February 14, 2005- you can see a pdf file of the home page here - note that the home page had a black background which doesn't pick up on the pdf file).

Jeff Abraham's WebLog :: Another new feature for Beta 2 is code signing, the ability to sign a binary with a certificate so that it can run on locked down devices (for more information, see http://msdn.microsoft.com/library/default.asp?url=/library/en-us/dnppcgen/html/smartphone_security.asp). Previously, you would have had to add a custom build step to take advantage of this, which somewhat defeats the purpose of an integrated development environment. There is a bug at the moment that if you change the code signing options, you need to ensure that the binary is re-linked (either through doing a rebuild, or some other change) in order for the binary to be signed again.

jefflu's WebLog :: Most of my day-to-day work involves changes to the application tier but I have made some changes to the client-tier. Prior to Microsoft, I earned a living by working on that other operating system doing a wide variety of things including file systems, network file system (NFS), security, and TCP/IP. I also worked on an NT-based disk array processor for CLARiiON (now part of EMC), network mandatory access control for NT4.0 systems, intrusion detection systems (IDS) and most recently control software for Racemi (an Atlanta-based company).

JTChris's WebLog :: My name is Jeff Chrisope, and I am one of the hordes of Microsoft Program Managers working on the Whidbey (aka Visual Studio 2005) release of Windows Forms. Notice that I didn't say I work on the "Windows Forms team", because that's oh-so v1.0. For reasons both complicated and boring, the team itself is called the ".NET Client team" -- though nobody internally calls us that, so you don't have to, either.
