Hacking Your TiVo

Forever Geek Nerds Are For Dorks[Forever Geek Nerds Are For Dorks] I should be ashamed to admit that I do not own a PVR box, but not really since my television watching is very limited. However, if I owned a TiVo I would be following this step-by-step guide on how to hack it. This includes adding storage, wiring your TiVo to your LAN, installing software on it and extracting video.

Some slightly related from Technorati and Google.

[Pardon My English] The Leftist Worldview Exposed: Soderberg may just be a tired leftist hack trying to hawk her lousy book. But she and her book and the amusing little anecdote about how Jon Stewart talked her into debunking in the space of ten minutes a theory she spent 400+ pages detailing are just a sidelight in the real story. The real story here is that the movers and shakers of Democratic Party - the ones who will be vying for their party's nomination in 2008, including Hillary Clinton - subscribe to this ridiculously naïve, apologetic, easily debunkable socialist world view in which they care more about how the rest of the world perceives us than they do about preserving our freedom and spreading democracy.

My TiVo does that if you hack it. My Harmony remote does that. Shouldn't he be talking about Xbox 2 now?" The IPTV demo was the most compelling--and snarky, too, with the SBC exec commenting that all of her demonstrations worked.

Hackaday.com[Hackaday.com] installing windows xp, service pack 2, with 1 cd - hack a day ...: Regarding post #2 This WOULD be a hack (in the modern sense) because it's information that's not given to users with their product when they purchase it. Someone had to do the work of digging through the M$ knowledgebase and hack together the information into a usable how-to for Joe User. Jut my 2 cents.

(by Jeremy Zawodny): I am ashamed to say I have a framed War Games movie poster (a one sheet) sitting above my computer desk. It used to be in my office, but when I moved back to NYC, it I decided to hang it in the bedroom. I'm a super large geek.

[W5nyv.blogspot.com] Travel Blog: April 2005: If we act ashamed of our interest in science, then that sends the wrong message. Being unapologetic-yet-approachable, enthusiastic and undaunted, and concentrating hard on excellent communications skills is the only way to represent the invaluable importance of learning how our world works.
