[Sam’s Ramblings] I’m thinking about buying an Apple iBook G4…again! I’ve been here before, but this time I’m really determined to have my little toy.

[a sibilant intake of breath] The thesis or gadgetry: one will drive me mad: The second one had a hard drive that failed while I was driving through Hamilton, Ontario with my cousin and brother. Sasha's iPod later succumbed to the same fate.

So now, the computer must be cracked open and the hard drive retrieved via the very careful hands of JW, who, of course will perform the surgery without injury.

Oreillynet.comhttp://www.oreillynet.com [Oreillynet.com] Macworld 2006 Ruminations - O'Reilly Mac DevCenter Blog: If Apple were to throw some money and expertise at a Mac version, and Square went along (like I said, they probably need the money), the Mac would get a game with a massive fan base, very high public regard, and a Mac game to talk up that isn’t just a year-old PC port. Plus, I believe the styles of games that Mac users go for are different than those that are popular on the PC, and bringing over a thoughtful, beautiful, story-driven epic from the console world seems like it would suit the Mac community better than the usual shooters, Warcraft-clones, and MMORPGs that can’t play with their PC counterparts.

[Apple.qj.net] QJ.NET - Apple Blog - 24/7 Coverage of the Latest Apple News - QJ ...: If you've got an iSight camera for your Mac, you may be interested in trying the open source project, Gawker.  It allows you to create time-lapse movies of whatever the camera is pointed at.  You can even grab 'feeds' from other iSights on your network, using Apple's Bonjour networking.  Combine various feeds to do a multi-view time lapse from two angles, etc.  Seems like a fun thing to try - though I don't know how useful it is.  I'll have to test it out and see.  If you've tried it and have some thoughts, please share!  Course if your iSight is built in - as it is with the new Intel Macs - we probably won't care to see time lapse of you coding or something.  Check out the project website for some example movies - the one of ice melting is pretty cool actually.

http://jeremykellogg.blogspot.com [Jeremykellogg.blogspot.com] Jeremy Kellogg's blog: I have many friends who have Macs and convinced me that getting an iBook or PowerBook was the way to go. I decided on the iBook because I dont need all the computing power of the PowerBook, and didnt feel that the extra price was worth it for me.
