Rent movies instantly: Apple TV review

Spicy Gadget Roll[Spicy Gadget Roll] It seems most have underestimated the value of Apple’s latest product offerings, namely Apple TV. Majority of the conversations are centered around the Macbook Air, it’s understandable why, the advantages of the Macbook Air are as obvious as they come.

First Impressions: Apple Time Capsule

Gadgets Page[Gadgets Page] Apple includes documentation for both Mac and Windows computers, but Windows simply sees the device as a network drive. If you’re strictly a Windows user, you could definitely beat the price by buying a separate WiFi hub and hard drive.

Apple TV: Who Wants One?

[Ads Artwork Agregator] The reason I wrote the title the way I did was to lure you all into this post so I can get some feedback from you regarding your thoughts about Apple TV, which as many of you know, is shipping to customers today. After reading Wired’s take on it, I became curious to get the JoshSpear.com readership’s take on it.

Apple's iPhone and Barak Obama

[Strategic Public Relations] To Apple fans, the iPhone is like what Senator Barak Obama is to certain rank and file democrats who want their party to win the White House--an unknown vessel into which they can pour all their hopes and dreams.

Ars Technica muses on an Apple DVR

http://www.freyburg.com [Freyburg.com] Ars Technica muses on an Apple DVR Ars Technica, always a good source of smart-thinkerin' on matters technological, has an interesting article up about the possibilities and pitfalls of an Apple DVR. I'd love it if Apple threw down with a device that owned the living room like the iPod does with portable music (and, I guess, video), but we'll have to see what Uncle Steve has up his sleeve, if anything.

Woz on Apple's 30th anniversary

http://www.freyburg.com [Freyburg.com] Steve Jobs is clearly the power behind Apple, and (even when gone) always has been the driving force that keeps the company innovative. But Steve Wozniak the genial engineer that lashed together the Apple I and II, has always been the soul of Apple, even though he hasn't been there as an employee for years.

Apple's "fun new products?"

Freyburg.comhttp://www.freyburg.com [Freyburg.com] macosrumours.com is spewing some drivel about the "gaming iMac." I'll believe it when I see it...and frankly, it's stupid of Apple to try and get into the gaming world. Consoles are a loss, hardware wise, and PCs have pretty much carved up the hardcore gamer market.

Apple's new (future) video empire

Freyburg.comhttp://www.freyburg.com [Freyburg.com] We're all used to Apple fans speculating madly and bending reality to suit their particular taste of crazy. But a columnist at thestreet.com, not exactly a repository of "APPLE RULZ0RS!" types, is predicting Apple will dominate the world of online video downloads (and audio, which it already does dominate.)

More Apple musings

Freyburg.comhttp://www.freyburg.com [Freyburg.com] First off, sorry for the dearth of posting lately. I've been sick with some sort of flu (I think it's called the "you're 35, dummy, you can't stay out late and celebrate like you're 20 anymore" flu) and I've been hitting the sack around 8 p.m.

Apple rumors drive off cliff, set selves on fire

Freyburg.comhttp://www.freyburg.com [Freyburg.com] Ok, I was willing to buy into the rumours of a Mac Mini DVR, a Intel based iBook, and other semi-plausible upcoming Apple innovations. I can even believe in an eventual wireless iPod with a big-ass screen.

Apple Expo Rumors!

[joepopp.com] While Apple surprised watchers when the company delivered Front Row alongside updated iMac G5s recently, Apple’s media center intentions have become startlingly clear in the past year since Apple first delivered the Mac mini and customers first started connecting the system to home theaters and installing it in automobiles. Sources have hinted that additional media announcements will further propel Apple’s strategy, and with the hardware, software, and iPod sales behind it, Apple now seems poised to firmly plant its footprint in living rooms. This next bit sounds like what we would expect from the Netflix/TiVo partnership that hasn’t produced anything yet.

latest Apple rumours

Freyburg.comhttp://www.freyburg.com [Freyburg.com] Macworld San Francisco is the biggest Mac event of the year, and traditionally the time when Apple trots out a real "ooo, ahhhh" type product. The rumors are flying fast and furious, but amongst the speculation is a Intel-based Mac Mini with built in DVR functionality, and various laptop configurations, again with Intel chips under the hood.

Apple's new cavalcade of gravy

Freyburg.comhttp://www.freyburg.com [Freyburg.com] The new iMac is nice, and I like the built in iSight camera, but I think I'll wait until the Intel boxes come out before I upgrade my computer. And even then, I'll probably get a Powerbook, so it's sort of a moot point.

Apple Finally Gets a Darn Patent

http://www.forceagainstsomething.com [Force Against Something] It looks like Apple finally managed to get a patent for something they invented, which is a nice change of pace since rival companies have been patenting Apple technology over the past year. If you’ve been following tech news, you know that everyone BUT Apple has been granted patents for technology and methods used in Apple’s iPod and iTunes.

New iPod Cellphone Will Expand Citizen Marketing

[Strategic Public Relations] This story started online earlier this week at Apple Insider. Apple and Motorola will need to answer some questions regarding downloading and storing songs on the phones. The iPod “pennies per song” business model might conflict with the “every second counts” approach wireless carriers appear to use.
