[Hacked Gadgets - DIY Tech Blog] If children can make UAVs out of toys, the genie is out of the bottle. Clear use guidelines (such as staying below 400 feet and away from tall buildings) would be welcome, but blanket bans or requirements for explicit FAA approval for each launch will be too hard to enforce.

Hop-on Releases the £5 HOP1800 Worldwide

[Gadget Spy] There are currently two versions of the HOP1800: one a Dual-band 850/1900MHz and another meant for Europe and Asia that’s 900/1800MHz. I don’t claim to be attracted to the throwaway culture the HOP1800 is promoting, but I do commend them for offering a £2.5 rebate for every phone that’s returned for recycling.

AT&T jumps onto the mobile TV bandwagon

[Coolest Gadgets] This launch comes rather late since AT&T had already planned to roll out its Mobile TV service by the end of last year, and will make it available in 58 markets all across the United States. So far, pricing details had been revealed which is pretty much in line with Verizon’s service, so it will depend on the quality of service which AT&T provides that will see users switching camps or signing up.
