[SecuriTeam Blogs] The downgrade utilizes the overflow as there is no other way to run non-Sony approved software on the PSP 2.0. The downgrade opens up the PSP device to independent software development for Sony’s device which hasn’t been Sony-approved.

Also, I think it’s a good idea to try not to get any Brasso worked into the gap around the clickwheel, although I didn’t have any issues with gunk getting stuck there.

TiVo Joins the Dark Side

[Force Against Something] TIVO IS JOINING THE RANKS of companies that require new customers to contractually subscribe to their services, and penalize any customer that cancels the service before the contract has expired, often charging the customer hundreds of dollars. Cellphone service providers like T-Mobile and Verizon require that most new customers sign a 1 or 2 year contract, and apparently TiVo thinks that business model is a perfect fit for their services.

Saitek A-350 wireless headphones

[Lockergnome's Mobile Lifestyle] There’s not much to say about Saitek’s new A-350 wireless headphones other than that, depending on your perspective, they’re either sleek or goofy-looking (we kind of think they look a bit too much like a pair of 80s-era wraparound sunglasses), they don’t use Bluetooth (Saitek’s got a proprietary RF transmitter that you plug into your headphone jack) and they’re about $99. Sound quality?

Widescreen Gizmondo due in 2006

[GadgetSpy] The WiFi and GSM Voice-enabled Gizmondo Widescreen had been kept under wraps as part of a multimillion-dollar R&D project. The new Widescreen device will compliment the current Gizmondo, due to launch shortly in North America, and give entertainment-hungry consumers more choice in terms of specification and feature sets, as well as an upgrade path - which will be detailed prior to the projected release in the second quarter of 2006.

Wireless broadband across Canada?

[Freyburg.com] Apparently Rogers and Bell are working together to provide high-speed wireless broadband throughout most of Canada's metropoli. That sounds really cool, especially for a net-addled freak like me, but I have to wonder just how much these cats will charge for such a service, given that it'll be expensive to deploy, and the fact that Canadian telecom companies overcharge for everything.
